The Recycling Myth

The coercive recycling structure is set up in layers, where the consumer ("producer" of waste) gets to do most of the work of sorting, cleaning, and transporting the trash to collection centers. Government-appointed companies then empty the containers and transport the materials to regional centers where the trash is prepared for recycling. And then everything is transported to centralized recycling plants where the materials are prepared for reuse or burning. Finally what is left of the materials is sold to companies and individuals at subsidized prices so that they can make "environmentally friendly" choices. It is "energy saving" simply because government does not count the time and energy used by nine million people cleaning and sorting their trash. FULL ARTICLE

Moderately Principled?

When surfing the web I "accidently" ended up on the web site of America's third party--the Libertarian Party. Established in 1971 as a radical alternative to the Republicrats parties it has become known as the Party of Principle. I'm not sure whether this is applicable anymore, not after the Libertarian Reform Caucus successfully repealed "most of the old platform" at the convention in Portland. But the slogan is still there.

Whether a result of the Caucus or not, the LP advertises its politics as Smaller Government... Fewer Taxes... More Freedom.... What? Smaller Government? Fewer Taxes? More Freedom?

How the Welfare State Corrupted Sweden

To be Swedish once meant to be beholden to no one. But the welfare state has created a dependent people utterly incapable of finding value in life; instead, they find themselves incapable of typical human feelings such as pride, honor, and empathy. These feelings, along with the means to create meaning to life, have been taken over by the welfare state. Like spoiled children, they call for "help" through the state. FULL ARTICLE
