  I know you're joking, Mike, but just to make it clear, he is saying that there is never any net benefit when the government does anything other than the one thing it is supposed to do: protect life and property (which of course it is not terribly interested in doing for most in any sensible way)

  certainly had his life vastly improved by the double-standards for government employees under the law. Instead of jail he gets school duty where he finally exposed his crimes by beating a mentally challenged kid. Workers of the government usually get their standard of living improved. Those bank ceo's who deals with the government to make short term profits saw their standard of living increase. But you get Wynn's point. Government's existence means zero-sum activity; people in general suffer at the hands of the favored. Of course, a comment coming from a guy like Wynn can probably be brushed off as another greedy capitalist trashing our wonderful saviors in order to take advantage of the the helpless proletarians.

  It would take dishonesty or complete myopia (I know, there's plenty of them both), his statements of fact could not be more plain. *He* provides 20,000 jobs. *He* is the source of tens of thousands being insured. *He* is being strangled as most of us are and he is implying what the result of that will be.

  Also, anyone trying to directly confront Wynn with this line about trashing our saviors should watch what he did to the Governor who tried it out. Beautiful.

  Notice one of the first things the governor counters with: minimum wage. Also notice how she puts words in Wynn's mouth. It would be hilarious if I thought that most people didn't nod their heads in agreement while listening to her.

  While I agree with Wynn's assessment, I wonder how he would feel about legalizing gambling everywhere in the country?

  Government forcible redistribution of wealth is NOT a zero-sum game. Violence is a disincentive to the creation of wealth, thus total wealth diminishes even as it's dwindling supply is concentrated in fewer hands. Don't forget the losses of opportunity as a cost.
