Mises.org as Fire

October 6, 2009 10:19 AM by Jeffrey Tucker (Archive)

The other day I gave a short presentation on the practice and theory of Mises.org. Here are some of the slides I used.

Crap, the layout was painful to look at even up until 2008. Good thing I didn't join until after Ron Paul's campaign :)

I had complete forgotten about how this site used to look a short 4 years ago.

In the wake of Ron Paul's campaign, I was desperately searching for a new outlet for my newly discovered love of Liberty. I turned to the Campaign for Liberty, Lew Rockwell's site, and the incredible Ludwig Von Mises Institute.

It is great to see an inkling of the history that I have missed. I would love to learn more about the history of the Institute, how it began, and all of the hard work and sacrifice to bring us this beautiful design and an entire wealth of knowledge and wisdom in seconds.

I count myself lucky to have discovered this at such a young age; yet I am very disappointed that I haven't been a part of it until now.

    Proceed ever more boldy...

This is the kind of change that is the true force behind the natural human attraction to "change." It is transformation. It also symbolizes the nature of the human spirit as it moves from latent to active entrepreneurship in its irrepressible search after truth.

Politicians - the insincere sleaze that they are - use 'change' in their rhetoric to bamboozle the masses who have fallen victim to their 'education system' that deliberately removes the ability to discern the truth. They are ego-driven liars.

In contrast, the Mises Institute does nothing but awaken and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and it is a tremendous example of real change.

Sites like Mises.org could be built of plain text, and they would still be great!

MariusAureus: They could be, but that is not the point. The point is that there is a better system than pure-text, and that the site has changed constantly to keep up with changes in web design.

Really? I think it looked (much!) better before 2008...
