Will the Google Mini Work for Us?

June 8, 2009 1:31 PM by Jeffrey Tucker (Archive)

We've plugged in a Google Mini into our server as a way of bumping up the search results. We are considering making it the main app for search. The advantage is that it does a more complete search and renders large html files as text. The only downside--and this makes it no better than the free apps--is that it will not index PDF or other files types in excess of 30MB. That excludes many files but not that many. My own thinking is that this is an improvement overall.

See what you think. Search.mises.org.

I haven't been all that thrilled with your current search function, so I think its definitely an improvement. However, as an alternative, could you not have the Google search button and just have the regular Google search just your site?
