The Rampart Journal, Back to Life

June 5, 2009 9:53 AM by Jeffrey Tucker (Archive)

We have a few issues of what must be one of the most obscure journals from the 1960s, The Rampart Journal, edited by Robert LeFevre. It seems to have been established as an overtly anarchist libertarian Rothbard-style scholarly journal, and it has contributions by Rothbard, Shaffer, LeFevre himself, and many others, and it includes critiques of the limited-government position developing at FEE and elsewhere. Quite an achievement and a fascinating journal in so many ways. We've scanned what we have and we hope to get more online.

I'll be happy to read these and any future copies. Thanks.

Curious is the development of FEE after the anarchist realization portrayed in MNR's The Betrayal of the American Right.

    Mr. Tucker,

Thank you so much for making these available.

You may want to add these here.

    Dear Junker,

If I remember correctly, Rothbard became an anarchist in 1950. FEE was founded in 1946.

    Cheers,
    Alex Peak
