The Essential von Mises
A year following the death of Ludwig von MIses, Murray Rothbard wrote the book designed to inspire a new generation to take up the Misesian cause in economic theory and political action. His task was to provide an overview of Mises's writings and place in the social sciences. The essay achieved extraordinary fame. We might even say that "The Essential von Mises," distributed in the form of a mini-book, was more responsible for immortalizing Mises than any other essay ever written.
The Mises Institute is thrilled to be able to bring it back again. It has lost none of its power in the intervening years.
Here it is coupled with an outstanding biographical piece that Rothbard wrote in the 1990s: "Scholar, Creator, Hero." It goes into greater biographical depth, and incorporates many discoveries made over twenty years. The content really serves as an expansion on the first essay rather than an updated form of the same, so it makes sense to have them placed together.
Therefore this book might be called "Rothbard on Mises" but it really serves as the best, short, all-round introduction to Misesian thought to ever appear in print.
It is all the essentials of what you must know about this great man and thinker.
By the way, the cover is extremely cool, though you might not be able to tell it from the small picture. It is actually made from dozens of tiny pictures of Mises, and really constitutes an artistic and technological marvel. You may download a high-resolution version of this cover, here.

That cover is indeed cool. Would Mises Institute care to make it available as a wall poster (without the book name, of course... just Mises)?
This may be the wrong place to make this request, but I'm really longing for a good wall poster each of Mises and Rothbard and since I couldn't find any I could buy, I've downloaded the couple of hi-res images that I could find to make the posters for myself. But the images don't seem hi-res enough to make good size posters.
So two questions:
Can anyone point me to more hi-res pictures of Mises and Rothbard?
Can the Mises Institute consider creating such posters and offering them for sale? I'm sure they'll be great tools for spreading awareness in a striking way.

This is off-topic, but it would be really neat if the computer programmers behind the Mises Institute store could allow customers to arrange their products by price, from cheapest to most expensive. It is very often the case that I have a small amount of money left over after other expenses, however, it is most cumbersome to manually figure out which books are within my budget.

Since we are off subject...I had a question that is WAY off subject. When is the Scholars Edition for Man, Economy and State going to be available? I have been waiting anxiously

Ludwig Von Mises Is Essential In These Dark Economic Times!
In all aspects this is a book for the ages!
The price is very reasonable ($8) and the content will thrill the mind of every lover of liberty and human action.
What an irony to be living in the Dark Ages of economics only because of ignorance while at the same time in our midst is a vast wealth of knowledge and wisdom for the foundation of an Age of Economic Enlightenment!

Thanks for this volume. It will be a great short introduction to Mises large, deep and fundamental work at a time when it's needed most.

Got here, again from a Digg friend, just to say it's so good to see this page here. It ties in with everything I've been endeavoring to produce for my own website.
