Pelosi Uses the "I" Word

September 25, 2008 6:54 PM by Laurence M. Vance (Archive)

And no, it's not "impeach," since that is "off the table." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, while acknowledging that Democrats and Republicans differ about the final form of the bailout legislation, said that Congress will act quickly because "everyone knows that we must intervene." When will these politicians learn that government intervention is always the problem and never the solution? The uncompromising ideas of Ludwig von Mises are needed now more than ever.

"When will these politicians learn that government intervention is always the problem and never the solution?"

They know. They don't want solutions, they want power. They are fascists. We are the ignorant masses. The precipice is just ahead there.

Mr. Vance, I assume your question is a rhetorical one. Why else would you question why people who voluntarily joined a criminal band of marauders, murderers, rapists and thieves, are not one with the Zen of free markets?

Observing our government is like watching a bad horror movie. I want to throw up my hands and shout, "Oh, come on! Don't open that door, you fool!" But in the end, I can only watch incredulously as they lead us all to disaster.

  • Bill. Impeachment NOT NOW, there is a crisis.

What does Bush have to do go get impeached? I guess multiple unjustified wars, domestic spying, destoying rights, secret prisions, detaining US citizens, over spending, ignoring laws, etc aren't bad enough. But forcing Congress to perform their assigned duties is the straw that broke the camels back.

Was it P.J. O'Rourke who wrote "Giving the government money and power is like giving a teenager whisky and the car keys".

Congressmen and senators don't know but I think the president and his boys know what is going on and they want to grab some cheap assets- this is bloody criminal...democracy fails...once again
