Interventionism: An Economic Analysis, by Mises. Good section on credit expansion. As best anyone can tell, this is a section of the 1940 book Nationalokonomie that was excluded from Human Action and that rounded out into a small book, not published until 1998.

This text has also been titled, A Critique of Interventionism, correct?

No, incredibly, that is a different book. This book is from 1940. Critique is from 1926 (from memory). I do wish that this one had a different title.

I am looking for a good book that puts forth various means of instituting fully backed money. I am an admitted novice in this area and have read Rothbard's essay of:

"What has the Government Done to Our Money"
and plan to read the rest of:
"The Case for 100 Percent Gold Dollar"

What I am looking for is a more in-depth text, rather than an essay, that I can read next. One that perhaps provides methods to implement such a system.

If this isn't the correct forum for this question, I apologize.

    to jeff,
i suggest de soto's book on pdf in the mises media section.
"money, bank credit and economic cycles".
i think it's the definitive work on fully reserved currency, or rather, the most comprehensive condemnation of fractional reserve banking.

    to Jeff,
    I would highly recommend Rothbard's "The Case Against the Fed." This was one of the first books of the Austrian School that I came across and it was amazing. While this book does not so much focus on advocating the gold standard, it destroys the idea of the alternative, namely; central banking and fiat currency. Also you can read it for free;

Perhaps this isn't what you had in mind, but after reading this book I was convinced that gold was the way to go.

    Jeff,

The Age of Inflation by Sennholz is a good one.

But starting with Hoppe's Economic Science and the Austrian Method is recommended. From there you can begin Gordon's Intro to Econ, followed perhaps by Mise's Critique of Interventionism.

If you then want a larger, more comprehensive text, Rothbard's Man, Economy, and State is fantastic.

For more on gold, check Rothbard's The Case for a 100 percent Gold Dollar, and also the book, The Gld Standard, edited by rockwell.

Some of the greatest material I have read, relative to these subjects, has been published in QJAU, JLS, and RAE, all available on this site.
