Paulson & Bernanke: Financial Dictators

September 22, 2008 12:09 PM by Manuel Lora (Archive)

Within the bowels of the text of surprisingly short $700 bailout proposal lies the disturbing Section 8, which deals about review. What follows is the entirety of the section of the bill that regulates review:

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

If passed, Paulson and his gang would achieve even greater control of the economy of the United States. Sadly, thanks to the evils of global central banking, the damage done locally also has potentially devastating effects elsewhere.

I think that at least Ron Paul can be counted on not to let the matter go unnoticed. Whether he can muster sufficient opposition is another matter.
