• Most of the callers were pathetic (blood diamonds, Rothchilds, etc.). You certainly have more patience than I do.

  This is always the case. It makes for good humor, though, if you are ever in need of something to make you laugh.

  During the segment with Dr. Salerno, I especially liked the McCain supporter who thought we should "get off the gold standard (after all, gold is just a mineral) and make 'it' about the people". Talk about a lost cause.

• Who am I to say I would have answered a question differently than Mr. Salerno, but I think the caller’s question regarding whether or not we could see an ‘economic collapse’ would have been a great opportunity to briefly go into the boom/bust theory. State that predictions are impossible, but do explain that the boom/bust cycle comes about through the central bank’s inflating the money supply. Then simply explain that the magnitude of the bust is in direct proportion to the inflating that preceded it, and let the viewers reach their own conclusions.

  "Nobody here in [wherever] will be voting for John McCain, because he's broken every one of God's commandments." Priceless!

  I was glad the commentator reigned in one caller by asking what his rant had to do with the gold standard.
