I have organized a Professional Development Workshop on Austrian economics at this year's Academy of Management Annual Meeting, August 3-8 in Philadelphia. The Academy of Management is the largest professional society for researchers and practitioners in strategy, entrepreneurship, organization theory, and other aspects of business administration.

The workshop, titled "The Austrian School of Economics: Applications to Organization, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship," runs from 12:30pm to 2:30pm Saturday, August 4, at the Philadelphia Marriott, rooms 414 and 415. The session begins with a panel discussion followed by a general conversation among the panelists and audience about research and teaching opportunities. Panelists include Nicolai Foss (Copenhagen Business School), Yasemin Kor (University of South Carolina), Richard Langlois (University of Connecticut), Joseph Mahoney (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), Elaine Mosakowski (University of Colorado at Boulder), and myself.

Contact me if I can provide any additional information.

  • Sounds interesting! Will you have anything in print for those of us who can't attend?

  • Unfortunately this is not a formal paper session so there will be no written output directly from the roundtable. But I will try to post some summaries and commentary afterwards.
