William Rees-Mogg on Lord Harris

A very nice tribute here, to a man who will never get the credit he deserves.

    As with this view:

"As long as the BBC continues in its present state there is no chance whatsoever of Lord Harris's ideas entering the main stream. W.R-M is wrong to suggest that they have done so. Thatcher is still loathed and her achievements belittled - if acknowledged at all - because that is the BBC's default position. Britain, like the rest of Europe, still appears to favour a 'top down' centralised State and economy. The Tories now appear to accept that Lady T is a mill stone rather than a life raft. I despair.

The battle fought, discussed in the article, while certainly valiant, is far from over. If anything, by improving the efficiency of the Economy, without upending the foundation of the problem, we have, more than likely, forestalled the falling of the Facade, that is folly, hardly Freedom.

We've seen this play out on both sides of the Atlantic, with "Thatcherism", in the UK, and the "Reagan Revolution", here in the US.

Both, seemingly Noble causes, are hardly complete and, thereby, at this stage, anyway, are Frauds if considered to have have reached their originally-stated Ends.
