Ladies' Tees in Gray and Pink

October 11, 2006 2:37 PM by Mises.org Updates (Archive)

You asked for it, and now it is here. After many requests for a t-shirt specially designed for women, this design was selected by women students as suitably sharp and fashionable.

The slogan on the front says: "Government is the negation of liberty." It means that you will only take so much. It is fitting that it comes from Mises, who was an early defender of women's rights and a promoter of their professional advance in academia and all areas of life.

He also saw that it was the development of capitalism, and not the rise of the nation state, that enabled the advancement of women's rights.

The emblem "mises.org" appears on the left sleeve. This shirt also makes an excellent gift.

4.2 ounce combed ring-spun semi-sheer cotton. Fitted silhouette. Contrasting sewn-on neck and sleeve rib. Double needle neck, sleeve and bottom hem. Sizes: S-M-L-XL. Also available in pink.

Lauren is a student at Auburn who works at the Mises Institute. In addition to being a tip-top professional, Lauren assisted in designing the shirt and generously agreed to be the "model" on the site.

Good move. I know several women who were unwilling to wear the "men's" t-shirts. Now maybe I can convince them to make a purchase at the mises.org store.

Never fails... place a photo of an attractive belle and the first thing anybody asks is "Who is she?" :-)

Good marketing wisdom would suggest that there is way to order XL shirts for the wifey and have it come with a "medium" label. Let me know when you have that handled.

For cying out loud, what are we? Neocons? I mean seriously. Libertarians and Austrian Economists, in theory, shouldn't be the proverbial looser single guys whose interest is sparked by anything female that appears on their monitor/tv screen. Why not? Because we're either dating babes, or are married to them. Neocons, Lefties, and statists of are easy to distract with pretty faces, platnium blondes and other things they'll never get.

I think the attraction is the Female AND Libertarian angle, therefore it is not ANYTHING that appears on the screen.

If she wore 'Go Bush!' no one here would be interested in her. Anyone here find Anne Coulter attractive?

And frankly there is nothing in Libertarian or Austrian theory about females in t-shirts, so I don't know where you are getting that from.

    word to Happy Lee ;)

    quincunx,

Ann Coulter indeed looks like a horse. I objected to this post in no way, nor the women's T for that matter. I just wanted to take a cheep shot at whoever asked "who is she?" Well, I would assume she works, in some capacity for LvMI, as did, in all probability, Michael. Radical Libertarianism and pro-market economics arent' exactly babe farms. But alas, women find there way to many places outside the kitchen (damn!)In any case,I hope that we could laugh at ourselves and laugh harder at our opponents.

"Who is she?" Frankly, I think any red-blooded male would wonder the same thing!

Seriously, its nice to be reminded that there are women (my age) out there who are Austrians/Libertarians (assuming she is Austrian/Libertarian) and therefore not influenced by any sort of the typical statist garbage most women (probably over 90%) drag along with them.

    Sorry, Bob.

The truth is, you'll eventually give up and fall for/marry a statist who will warp your mind and make you forget your former striving for liberty.

I know a few guys who gave up and married statist types. It does not work out well in the end. They each descended into a mild depression from which they only emerge during visits to the pub or big sports events. In both cases alcoholic lubrication is involved.

Curiously, while the bloke is unhappy, so is the woman.

Best thing to do is keep your standards high and marry the right person. Never compromise. It's not worth the trouble.

Ann Coulter is a rather fanatical member of the Neo-conservative/Zionist club. Well known for being less than tactful to her enemies.
