It is nothing short of remarkable that people do not see this obvious reality.
The argument that increased profits (from IP protection) increases incentives to innovate has rhetorical appeal. But, that's just about it.
If people simply ask: at what cost? they would realize that its effects eventually come full circle to destroy its premise.
IP is just another way to consolidate wealth in a global economy obsessed with virtual reality and ready to obliterate the physical realm to amass as much virtual reality, as physically possible.
