How to get a book on the best-seller list

July 25, 2004 4:49 PM by Jeffrey Tucker (Archive)

In Anti-Capitalistic Mentality, Mises says it is foolhearty to expect high-art from best-selling books. "It is true that most of the novels and plays published today are mere trash," he wrote in 1956. Here is the NYT's sendup of the base titles of today's intensely partisan political books. One possibility that the Times article doesn't consider: all of these people are right about each other.

The NYT screws up again. #10 should have been "Dick Morris is blah blah blah by Al Franken", to make the list circular.
