Hoppe in Finnish

April 12, 2009 by

The most important libertarian theorist living, Dr. Hoppe has now had his work translated into at least 21 different languages, Finnish being the latest. The Finnish translation is timely: it’s a translation of his The Misesian Case Against Keynes.

Good stuff. I consider Hoppe’s essay to be the most succinct demolition of Keynesian economics. Anyone relucant to read the entire Skousen book Dissent on Keynes, or Hazlitt’s book should start with this essay.

The syntax is rather counter-intuitive in the Finnish translation, and there are heaps of bizarre word choices too. I hope I can find the time to make at least a few critical corrections, but I’m not promising anything.

All the corrections and suggestions are welcome as it is stated in the web-site. I have only a limited amount of time available for the translations (+ for their proofing) and hence the quality can certainly be improved.

So far I have preferred more substance than very little but of the highest quality since practically nothing has been available in Finnish beforehand.

Does anyone have the references?

Thanks for the info, I think we readers of mises.org in Finland are so few that the best way for us to get know of each other is comments like this.

All right, I’ve started work on this. Might take a loooong while, as it’s quite challenging.
