James Pethokoukis of the US News compares Rich Santelli with Wendell Willkie: two men who spoke truth to power. Good piece.
Meanwhile, the White House blasted back, in a disgusting but very boring smear of Santelli, but Santelli stepped it up. It’s all good, but it is strange that after a trillion plus in bailouts from the Bush administration, this method of looting some to pay others is only now a controversy
Quick judgement here: the appalling economic ignorance of the entire Obama crew–people who know zippo about the relation between cause and effect in the economic realm–will be its undoing. It seems to be happening faster than anyone expected.

I was listening to CNBC as it happened. It was the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time.
I would have paid money to actually be on the floor of the bond market when Geithner announced the Treasury’s “plan”.
Why would it be his undoing?? My guess is that his team’s ignorance, and the resulting bad times, will immediately vault Obama to one of the most loved Presidents in history. People will say, “Wow, just think how bad it would have gotten if Obama hadn’t taken bold action.” Just look at FDR.
This unseemly squabbling with his media critics does not bode well for Obama. That, plus the spending policy, plus the implied encouragement of squatters to “homestead” other people’s property, all smell very … Zimbabwean.

FDR controlled the media. Obama has to deal the internet and mises.org. Do not abandon hope. I pray in ten years we are celebrating the peaceful death of an empire.
Lowell Sherris,
DIDO and Hats off to YOU!!!!
Did anyone else see Press Secretary Gibbs attack Santelli during a press conference? Obviously Santelli struck a nerve and Gibbs sees him a real threat. If he didn’t see him as a threat he would have ignored him.

Those in power hate it when you stand up to their authority. As the old saying goes, you get the most flack when you’re right over the target.
Ten years? I rather prefer to hope that we’re celebrating in ten days.
Robert Gibbs is the worst press secretary in my lifetime. Anyone want to take bets on him lasting one year?
