greed and the desire for more money will always exist. we just need the government to be in charge of its distribution so it doesn’t result in economic crises like this one…(gag)
Materialism Is Caused By Economic Interventionism.
The political corruption of the economy which is also called ‘economic intervention’ is the cause of materialism. I know that this is a bold claim but it is true.
Greed is nothing more than a perversion of the inherent nature of humans, who have the natural desire for unlimited wants. This desire is part of the inherent human strivings for omniscience and omnipotence which is naturally moderated in the real world by limited means.
The corruption of the economy by intervention removes the ethical basis of the economy and perverts human nature, making materialism a substitute for ethical behavior.
In other words materialism is the effect not the cause. Greed is the effect not the cause. The corruption of the economy by intervention is the cause!
Instead of inflating the money supply, we should inflate the goods, services and knowledge supply so that money will purchase more wealth.
Deflation is your friend.
Great line, only if we could do that, someone needs to create a replicator like on Star Trek.
Wait, if we did that, then there would be no JOBS for people. that would be terrible. I guess we will have to have the government step in and stop the production of infinite free goods, so that people can still get paid for producing them. there by increasing agg. demand and helping the economy.
Lester, just where in that cartoon does capitalism come into play? Both of those money bags (as well as greed (i.e. wanting something for nothing)) are creations of the bankster cartel known as The Fed.
Capitalism meanwhile, is about creating more than we consume, giving us a surplus of savings to the benefit of all.
Greed subordinates a conscious, purposeful, utilitarian use for money to the unconscious love of it, and that really is kind of stupid isn’t it? Tacit insecurity?
When “money” was replaced with “free fiat currency enforced as legal tender and causing misallocations in the economy and when this bubble pops, causing severe recessions and more discretionary power for government to intervene”, it would have been more accurate but of course much less funny…
If the USA had not stopped educating their chidlren we would not have a population who does not understand politics or economics. Do high schools even teach economics now? It should be a required subject.

You don’t need a replicator to increase the supply of goods, service and knowledge, the market does that on its own.
Somehow, cartoon reminds me of “Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man, and socialism is just the reverse of that.”
