Bettina Bien Greaves on Last Knight

October 24, 2008 by

She has a review in the new issue of The Freeman (p. 42) of Hulsmann’s Mises: The Last Knight of Liberalism.

Biographer Guido Hülsmann has written a magnificent book, describing in detail not only
the life of Ludwig von Mises, but also his writings, his intellectual development, and his importance. Hülsmann studied all Mises’s works in German, English, and French, and the biographer’s fluency served him well. He traveled widely to locate Mises’s papers, files, personal correspondence, and documents and did vast research into his life and background…. The book is fascinating reading for anyone interested in Mises, the person, the economist, the libertarian.

Dear Bettina Bien Greaves,

It must be amazing for you to be so closely connected to the early days of Ludwig von Mises in America and to see this glorious biography. There can be no doubt that your review of Mises: The Last Knight of Liberalism is done from a unique perspective and from a remarkable foundation of knowledge since you are the most recognized annotator of the works of Mises.

You and Guido Jorg Hulsmann are leaving a legacy that cannot be adequately estimated!

With warm regards,
Bruce Koerber
