Poland: With or Upon a Shield?

August 7, 2007 by

Why does Bush want Poland to host a missile shield? America’s government, as the biggest warfare-state, isn’t concerned with any Cold War sentiments, writes Juliusz Jablecki, but with global dominance. This requires, however, that its main challengers — the European Union, Russia, and China — who, by the way, also strive for hegemony — be kept in check: divided and defenseless. And what could possibly be a better means of attaining this goal than building military bases all across Eurasia and deploying a missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic? FULL ARTICLE

Hey that’s my missile!

Well I work on the radar part of the system, but that is a picture of a THAAD missile launch at White Sands NM.

And I do agree that it an expensive band-aid for a non-existent scratch.

Poland is caught between Russia and Germany, two historical abusers. They are friendly with America for the same reason Vietnam has suddenly warmed to the U.S. They fear their neighbors.

Uh, is there not a missle shield in the works for Israel? And why such antipathy for the US-Poland friendship…not like they have too many friends in their vicinity is it?
Let’s take a look at the history of Poland, USSR and the European Social Democrats.

Just when I think that American foreign policy can’t possibly get any more belligerent, it does. And how many billions of our money did our leaders squander to pay for this shield?

It is well past time for Americans to wake up to what Washington is doing in our name. They claim to be protecting us, when in reality they are stirring up worldwide resentment. We are, in fact, less safe than we were six years ago, and we’re like sheep in accepting a litany of constitutional violations.

Care to stop the madness? Vote for Ron Paul.

America is simply doing what is does best: Flexing its military muscle to scare of its enemies (and, sometimes, gaining new enemies at the same time).

But as long as we respect the institution “State”, we must respect the power of each State to accept tax payments and “protection” paid by citizens of another State.

So how about not respecting the institution anymore?

Israel has been working on for years and partially deployed the Arrow anti-missile system. To defeat missiles launched from Iran toward England an anti-missile system in Poland is a good location.

Well, if we look at it objectively, most European countries have a significantly larger U.S. military presence than Poland. Look at the full-fledged naval and air bases in Spain, Italy, Germany or the UK. OK, these have been built in the cold war period, but the rationale may have been pretty much the same that for the Polish missile base.
