A teacher who engages students? How odd

Hoppe’s Micro class challenged all thinking students to rethink whatever it is they previously thought; and for some of those students who had comfortably come this far without having to think, Hoppe inspired the first laborious struggles with ideas.
Was it his his cool teutonic detachment meshed with his obvious passion for the subject matter? Or maybe his crisp, clear logical thought process? Perhaps it was his dry sense of humor? In any case, micro with hoppe was a treat.
Hoppe’s entire Micro class should be on DVD and CD. While we are at it, let’s toss in his money and banking and marxism classes.
“By question 20 we did not know what was right and what was wrong”
Precious:) That is what modern education lacks: getting people to think.
Guess Hoppe gives hope.
I was recently thinking about Prof. Hoppe, with regards to the fact that he takes the more proper libertarian view on immigration. That is one thing I love about the libertarians at LewRockwell.com – that, and the fact that they take a more proper view on abortion as well.
I remember, when reading Lew Rockwell’s introduction to The Irrepressibe Rothbard (which was included on LewRockwell.com), that I wished I could specifically link to, or reference in some way, the paragraphs of the introduction dealing with the immigration issue. When I found out, just a few days or so ago, that the Preface and Introduction for that anthology are no longer on LewRockwell.com, I retrieved them, and posted them onto my own web pages.
A side effect of this (aside from the obvious fact that I can now annotate those pieces with hyperlinks – though stating, at the top of each page, that they were added by me, and not by the authors) is that I can link directly to the section of Lew’s introduction, which deals with immigration… It describes Dr. Rothbard’s view on this, but also gives what the proper libertarian perspective should be. And Prof. Hoppe is mentioned!

I wish I could have a class with Professor Hoppe.
I remember telling Scott Kohlhaus (who I was excited to learn actually knew Dr. Rothbard), back at the very start of the Fall 2002 semester, that it would have been great to have had a class with Professor Rothbard.
Wow… Would that have been an experience!
