The Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA) is seeking an economist to research and advance policy ideas that maximize economic opportunity and prosperity in Oklahoma. He or she will author articles and studies on tax policy, budgetary policy, and general economic issues important to Oklahoma . He or she will also represent OCPA in media interviews and in professional forums and settings, including professional conferences, legislative committee hearings, and public speeches.
He or she should have at least an M.A. in economics (preferably a Ph.D. in economics) and an intellectual affinity for free markets and limited government.

Do you suppose an Austrian economist could get the gig? Governments have historically been hostile to their points of view.

I have a masters (not a PHD) but teach economics in a maseters program here in Oklahoma.
Before I apply, does anyone know at all what sort of salary is reasonable? being public policy, is it expected to be something like 30K?

OCPA is a private think tank that tends to lean towards conservatism, but not overly so. They’re especially good on education and tax issues. Alas, I have no college degree, much less one in economics.
