At least Bernanke knows what Austrian econ is. But that’s not very comforting after his helicopter remark.

It’s interesting that Baum looks at inflation and growth today as a guide to what the Fed will do, but the Fed economists I have read realize that a 12 to 18 month lag exists between Fed actions on the money supply and the effects of those actions. So the Fed is looking at what inflation and growth will be next year, not right now, to help make its decisions. The nominal growth and inflation we suffer today is the result of the Fed’s actions a year or more ago.
