What can I say to persuade you to click on this link and have a look? This has to be the finest book from one of the great American thinkers and writers of the 20th century, a man who has been tragically neglected and forgotten: Frank Chodorov. Every essay in this book, called Out of Step, which is also available in print, is a gem, from its defense of the peddler to his celebration of the American tradition of isolationism. For shame on the institutions and publications that buried his name and failed to alert new generations to his insight and craft! We surely hope to run some of these essays as daily articles. His prose burns like a fire and his thought is relentlessly logical. And he really threw himself into the public arena in a massive way. It is such a pleasure to have a hand in drawing attention to his work.

Jeffrey,
Chodorov is one of my favorite writers, as well as being a “libertarian’s libertarian” (see my post http://classicalliberalism.blogspot.com/search?q=Frank+Chodorov ). He is insightful, wise, writes incredibly well, and should be one of the first libertarians that one should be introduced into libertarianism with.
Thanks for reprinting this! As I recall, you reprinted his “The Income Tax: Root of All Evil” already.
I would recommend reprinting his other books as well: “One is a Crowd” and “The Rise and Fall of Society” (his attempt to update Nock’s “Our Enemy The State”). Another collection, “Fugitive Essays” was published by Liberty Press and available through them. His periodical, “analysis” is one that I would urge you to consider reprinting. A great series, “Socialism via Taxation” was run there which has never been completely reprinted, which I have always thought should be reprinted as a separate essay.
Best to you!
Just a thought.

Thanks for posting this, Jeffrey. I’ve already found in the chapter on Nock a new line of argument I can use in my ASC paper.
