I guess I’m a bit late on this, but I found this story very impressive: CNET News ranked Ron Paul as the most technology-friendly Congressmen in Washington, based on 20 recorded votes. The story notes that he is a “Texas Republican who represents a rural district along the Gulf Coast that’s home to few Web 2.0 start-ups but plenty of cattle ranchers and petrochemical companies. He topped the House rankings with a score of 80 percent, narrowly besting two Northern California Democrats.”
It might seem strange that a Congressmen might actually do some good even when it is not necessarily in his direct political interest, but then Dr. Paul is easily the most principled person in American public life in the last 30 years if not in the last century.
By the way, the primary author of the article, Declan McCullagh, will be delivering the Henry Hazlitt Lecture at the Austrian Scholars Conference in March.

Ron Paul is a rare gem, we could use about 400 more just like him.
Does anyone know whether Rep. Paul is a proponent of Net-Nuetrality? I know he voted no on some legislation, but I’m not sure if he’s for it or against it.
“Similarly, a spokeswoman for Democrat Daniel Akaka of Hawaii, the worst-scoring senator, at just 14 percent, claimed that her boss was “not only a friend to the tech industry but also a protector of its future.” Akaka scored well on just 2 of 14 votes.”
Perfect quote…for a guide on “Knowing The Shakedown.”
Well, at this point I’ve pretty much given up any hope that the US government and the Fed won’t crash the economy into the worst US economic disaster ever. So hopefully they’ll crash the thing into the dirt so hard that the public revolts and votes in Ron Paul as president and replaces most the congress with Libertarians.
Has anybody studied the success of Ron Paul for the purpose of replicating his success in other congressional districts? What makes him so successful as a congressman?
Has everyone heard that Ron Paul is running for President?
Great Stuff. Go Ron!
Ron Paul is the hope for Americas future. I will vote for him in 2008 as my presidential hopeful. He is a principled man with integrity that has been unmistakably absent in our elected officials for the last century.
Tack care all
steve
