The nice thing is that many people knew that he was lying during the election campaign, but no one did anything. However, when he – the liar! – admitted his lying, people finally believed it.

It’s nice to see the European Union standing behind the socialists, claiming that higher taxes are needed to “mend public finances.”
I had the great fortune of visiting the beautiful city of Budapest last summer. What caught my attention was the number of spendid buildings lying in disarray around the city. To this outsider, a climate encouraging private investment in the country is needed, not increased taxes.
BTW, I highly recommend the Hungarian National Museum, world-class and practically empty when I visited!
I remember when a previous Hungarian PM, Gyula Horn, was interviewed by a Western European TV news outfit. He was asked whether he was going to increase the “sin taxes” on gasoline, alcohol and cigarettes. He said, “No! Why would I? I drive a car. I smoke and I drink!” I think it is a national characteristic for them to be somewhat blunt. At least they are not as bland and insipid as Western political “leaders”.
Hungary is a fabulous place to visit. Traditional Hungarian food is the best in Europe. The wine is excellent. Good music too. Keep away from the big tourist traps and eat with the locals and you are going to be in for a treat.

PS and the women are stunning. Beautiful. The Hungarian men have no idea how lucky they are.
