Hey honey, I went to school with this guy!

I was somewhat interested in this USA Today story about the “problem” of offshore tax shelters, until I came across a case study on a former classmate, Sam Congdon. He was older than me but I seem to recall that he was a good libertarian. Naturally the feds want to crush him.

“Current law requires the federal government to prove that U.S. citizens control assets in offshore accounts before filing tax charges. Levin said the legislation he plans would reverse the legal burden.”

So in a bid to get relected Senator Levin is telling people that they are guilty until proven innocent.

We think you’re evading taxes. Prove to us that every single bank account held outside the US isn’t really yours!

Congdon is a freedom hero. There is no nobler deed than keeping money and assets from the tyrants, where they use it only for evil. “‘Honest taxpayers get socked with the bill’ as tax avoiders transfer assets offshore, Levin said.” Levin shows what a crook he is by his lies and deceit. They aren’t “honest taxpayers,” they are simply robbery victims. The “tax avoiders” are freedom fighters.
