FaNL audio, chapter 11

July 21, 2006 by

The Public Sector, Part 2: Streets and Roads

Abolition of the public sector, wrote Murray Rothbard, means of course that all pieces of land, all land areas, including streets and roads, would be owned privately: by individuals, corporations, cooperatives, or any other voluntary groupings of individuals and capital. The fact that all streets and land areas would be private would by itself solve many of the seemingly insoluble problems of private operation. What we need to do is to reorient our thinking to consider a world in which all land areas are privately owned.

In this week’s chapter of the For a New Liberty audiobook:

  • Protecting the Streets
  • Street Rules
  • Pricing Streets and Roads

Chapter 11 of For a New Liberty is now available for podcast or download.

Next week:

“Part 3: Police, Law, and the Courts” …

(And if you don’t want to wait for the free audio, you can always purchase the new, hardbound edition of Rothbard’s manifesto here.)
