Apropos Stephen Carson’s latest post covering Digg, Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief of Wired magazine, recently discussed the importance (or lack therof) of mainstream media outlets — such as the New York Times — in monopolizing the marketplace of ideas.
In essence, because of the low barriers to entry provided by blogging utilities and services, individuals can effectively discuss whatever they what, whenever they want, wherever they want… by-passing gatekeepers altogether. Be sure to read all of Anderson’s post on this topic.
