I’ve scanned and uploaded Tibor Machan The Moral Case for the Free Market Economy (Edwin Mellen Press, 1988) (with the author’s permission; it was informally published on regular sized paper, not hard-bound). From the preface:
This book grew out of my AB Timbro Summer Seminar lectures in Stockholm, Sweden, during
August 1986. I try to place on record a brief, accessible statement of the case for the free market system
of economics, based on a view of human beings as moral agents and the legal system of a good community
as designed to nurture this moral agency. A far more extensive discussion of the present thesis
will be available in my forthcoming Individuals and their Rights (Open Court, 1989). I have also written
more extensively about the shortcomings of the economic argument for the free society, in my Capitalism
and Individualism: Reframing the Argument for the Free Society ([] 1989).
