And the US Army Corps of Engineers is really sorry about destroying New Orleans. Now get over it and send them more money!

Meanwhile, reports like this do not inspire confidence: “The Army Corps of Engineers yesterday experienced movement of a 400-foot section of hurricane protection levee system near Buras in Plaquemines Parish. The section of the levee slipped under its own weight because the sub-surface soil conditions were weaker than indicated by earlier soil borings.”

Ya know, I’ve truly lost the ability to be outraged by anything my employer does to my home state anymore. From the moment Louisiana was purchased unconstitutionally by Jefferson, it’s been kinda downhill for us. It was the 2nd most productive state in the U.S. before secession (yay!) After reconstruction? Well, watch Joe Dirt! I truly think Huey long would have been revenge on the rest of the country.
