In the past, one on of the websites I maintained, I had a link to the Journal of Libertarian Studies. I thought it was available online… But I guess that the PDF pieces from that journal that were online must be only parts of the Journal – or perhaps they were select back issues.

The entire run of the JLS is available online, with a one-issue moving wall. What this need service provides is the latest issue immediatley downloadable with the receipt that comes with the subscription. It is instant.

It came about because someone from Ireland called with a burning desire to get the latest issue. But that would have meant subscribing, and then waiting for the mails to delivery the issue overseas–a complete anachronism in today’s world. So we cobbled together a few articles and sent them via email after he subscribed.

Then we began to dig around to see what was possible by way of automating this process. 18 hours later, this digital delivery service was born. Now when you subscribe, you get exactly what you might have been looking for and get it instantly instead of waiting for the mails or for the issue wall to move.

Early next week, the same will be available for the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics. To me this service is just dazzling.

Good idea.

I live in France and I know so many friend who have a subscription to the JLS who don’t get every issues or with big delay. The international mail service seems not very reliable.

Also, as I don’t care to have physical journal, I wonder if it is possible to get only an electronic subscription (maybe with a rebate, because of lower costs for you) ?

Thanks,
