Is Liberalism Orange?

January 27, 2005 by

Anthony Evans, an economics student at George Mason University, has established a new website called The Orange Path. He makes the case that orange is the color of liberalism here.

Check out the site’s display of “Catallactic Art”, such as G. de Lairesse’s “Allegory of the Freedom of Trade”. Click through “Catallaxism” to find his call for a rebirth of visual art that glorifies commerce.

I have a sudden flash-back to C.M.Korbleuth’s book, _The Space Merchants_ (I think), where the museum has such works of advertising art as, “I took a walk in my Maidenform”.

What made me laugh (and bookmark the site) is their online store that sells panties sporting a picture of Mises and a caption that reads: “Fancy some Human Action?”

I’d like to add that I’ve been advocating art-as-liberty for decades–although most people ridicule my assertions.
