I found the lecture very enlightening, similar to what I had read from Rothbard though. However, I want to make a statement which reflects something my professor stated during a class I had on Historical Materialism. He claimed that the Nation-State came to be to make trade easier, in tandem with the rise of capitalism, and that the way capitalism and trade work, it could not work under the feudal system because of all the lords and fragmented society in general. Would this be correct or incorrect?
I think this is the second time I have tried to listen to a lecture from Stromberg. Both times I have closed out because he puts me to sleep. I’m sure the subject matter is interesting, but his monotone voice just makes me turn him off.
