Simon Sebac Montefiore is an idiot who’s book adds nothing to the dialog in which he pretends to participate – that being “what can we learn from the past to help us deal with the fascism of now?”
Joseph Davies, the U.S. ambassador to USSR (1936-38) wrote a much more informative book on stalin called “Mission to Moscow”, which was made into a movie in 1942. Remember the Nazi surrendered to USSR in may ’45.

Mr. Davies,

“A man who believed the solution to every human problem was death” is only a slight hyperbole in describing men like Stalin, Mao, and Hitler, considering each murdered tens of millions of people. I don’t see why that’s “retarded”, and to get in a fit over that slight exageration is almost callous.
