Mises clung to his principles even (or especially) in wartime. However, in the category of “war makes people crazy,” we have this astonishing article advocating a holocaust in Fallujah: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=37878
“Astonishing” doesn’t even begin to describe despicable, disgusting suggestion made by the author. Then again, considering the source, I’m not terribly surprised. That’s a site that has Ann “Convert them all to Christianity by the sword” Coulter as a regular columnist.
Remarkable. Just remarkable. But hey, this is a strain of scorched-earth ideology that has been around a long time. I’ve had to deal with the lunatic fringe within orthodox Objectivism that tries to use Rand’s philosophy as a tool for genocide in the Middle East. Check out this essay, written in the wake of 9/11:
