Hoppe’s Democracy: The God that Failed, reviewed and discussed at length on the forum. Everyone I know who has read it has never looked at the world in quite the same way.

The point of the article seems to be this: Economists have divined, by doing “studies” (perhaps that’s a euphemism for pulling out a chickens entrails and looking for omens in it) that the stimulus actually was a tremendous help to the economy. Nevertheless, dumb “partisan” Americans have unscientifically looked at the fact that our economy is faltering and our national debt has grown fantastically, and come to the ridiculous conclusion that the stimulus wasn’t the wonderful job-savior it invisibly, scientifically is.
The stimulus is the worst thing that could have been done in light of the circumstances.
Giving emegency funds to the same managers that were responsible for their firms’ decline is a joke and anyone saying it saved jobs isn’t looking at the facts.
