The great move from there to here

January 5, 2010 by

Beginning today, the Mises Institute undertakes a massive operation: moving our entire warehouse of books and things from Colorado to closer to home in Atlanta. This should result in a massively modernized system and better service, plus more flexibility for adding great stuff in the store. But of course there must always be the transaction costs: the move will take a full week, and this is after months of intense planning. The store, then, will stop shipping tomorrow morning. You can still purchase but shipping won’t start again until early next week. We are so sorry for the temporary inconvenience but you will just adore what’s coming up soon after this is complete.

If you can get down your shipping costs to Europe, that would be great!

We’ll soon be in a better situation to evaluate this and seek a better solution.

I echo Paul! I’m sure you and the team will do your best, though, to try and get a cheaper option sorted for us, Jeff. I know at least for Amazon their cheapest method is USD$5 per order + $5 per book to ship to Australia. It’s unfortunate that shipping is so expensive when all the items in the store are so competitively priced.

I would agree with Paul as well. It’s the only reason I don’t buy from the Mises shop even thought I would like to.

International shipping is free if you buy libertarian books from Bookdepository.

Can you buy books directly at the Mises Institute? I will be doing a roadtrip through the US later this year that will take me through Auburn on the way to Atlanta. Is some stock kept there for selling to the public or does it have to be posted from your warehouse?

yes, you can. We have probably 99% of the stuff right here in house.
