Omnipotent Government: Fantastic New Look

November 20, 2009 by

Libertarian Press owns the rights to Omnipotent Government by Mises, and we couldn’t strike a deal to publish it ourselves, so we did the next best thing: we designed a great cover for it and asked them to do a special print run. This is an amazing work by Mises, better than Road to Serfdom by Hayek and probably the most anti-Nazi book ever published, especially because he rightly examines the essential socialism behind Hitler’s regime.

I just bought this at the store not 15 hours ago. Beautiful timing.

Snappy uniforms, smiling children, powerful icons, stirring spectacles. Don’t give Obama ideas.

How about printing on demand like lulu.com or so?

“Omnipotent Government” by Mises Exposes Nazism As A Type Of Socialism.

I just read the section in “Mises: The Last Knight of Liberalism” where in 1938 Mises left this very manuscript with a colleague. These were tumultuous times: his marriage, his harrowing escape from Switzerland, and his voyage to America.

Read this book (“Omnipotent Government”) and you will see why the Nazis wanted to kill Mises. Read this book and you will see what the unConstitutional coup wants America to become.

p0ck, did you not read the post? See what I said about copyright.

Thanks for putting these up for sale; I can’t wait to read Mises’ history of socialism in Germany. It bundles nicely with the Mises silver coin, an antithesis of omnipotent government.

Isn’t this the same photo that appears on the cover of Richard Evans’ “The Third Reich in Power?”

Jeffrey Tucker November 20, 2009 at 9:19 pm

J.J. apparently so. we didn’t know this until today.

I prefer Hayek’s book.

I just ordered the book. Is it hardcover or paperback?

I wonder what changes Mises made from the original manuscript circa 1938 to the final 1944 Yale Press version. Wouldn’t having the earlier version emphasize the strength of his analysis even more? Does this also mean he was writing the original back in ’37?

Thanks again for your wonderful efforts, Mr. Tucker.

giladr, it says in the store at the bottom (paperback).

Interesting. Will have to get it.

Its interesting that apparently Liberty Fund will publish this as part of their series of Mises works in about a year. So did they do a deal with Liberty Fund and not you guys?

Sadly, I find their current covers extremely dull (damn you, stripey covers). Wish you could help them out with their other dull covers…

Lets been logical. When You criticized Hayek’s “Road to Selfdrom” you should also criticize “Omnipotent Government” – especialy chapter XII. Mises suggested political centralisation, and agressive foregin policy of winners.
