Off to Salamanca

October 19, 2009 by

Today and tomorrow, many of us are off to Salamanca, Spain, for a conference cosponsored by the Juan de Mariana Institute on the Birthplace of Economic Theory. I’m going in hopes of live blogging the event. There will be many wonderful papers and presentations.

My own talk concerns technology and the history of publishing. It was a blast reading all about the early scribes and printing methods in the 15th century, the hysteria and fights over what it all meant, and to reexamine the origins of copyright within the mercantilist milieu and to speculate about the future.

If all goes well, I’ll post and post about all talks and scenes.

I am very jealous! And I can’t wait to hear the lectures on Mises.org. I’m looking forward to whatever live blogging you are able to do, Mr. Tucker.

All of you, have a safe trip and capture the spirit of those early great minds of those early great seekers after truth. Bring it back with you and be sure to cast out a large net to catch the masses!
