The controversy has been roiling around economics circles for years but this morning, the issue hits Huffington Post in this well-written article: Priceless: How the Federal Reserve Bought the Economics Profession. What’s strange is that this piece nowhere cites the crucial piece on this subject, Lawrence White’s 2005 piece from Econ Journal Watch, “The Federal Reserve System’s Influence on Research in Monetary Economics”. Had the Huff writer Ryan Grim consulted White’s piece, he would have been able to fill in some missing pieces and also strengthened his argument. In fact, I can’t understand how he could have missed it. It comes up in Google as the top link when searching the subject.

Maybe because the Huffington Post is a socialist website. Why should they promote Lawrence White.
Wait, the Huffington Post researches things before they write about them? I never imagined…
Huh? All of the Miley Cyrus articles I’ve seen on the Huffington Post have been well researched.
Wait, you mean they write about economics too?
The huffington post or the dailykos….
It seems like that they are both still competiting to attract the biggest sheeple.
