Today, Professor Hoppe turns 60–happy birthday, Hans!
In honor of his birthday and achievements in the cause of economic science and liberty, he was presented with the Property, Freedom, and Society: Essays in Honor of Hans-Hermann Hoppe festschrift at the end of July during Mises University 2009–about a month early. And today, the Google books version has gone up too.

Is there a growing awareness out there that Hans-Hermann Hoppe is a great economist? Maybe they will ask him what he thinks about the ‘economics’ of Krugman or about the true outcome of the actions of Bernanke.

I’ve really enjoyed the lectures you have available through Mises.org. Through them (and through my other favorite lecturer, Walter Block), I’ve gained a great deal of information.

That’s not what I meant, we don’t have to be in the same planned community to have liberty, peace and tolerance for each other. It was merely a joke about how, whether you’re conscious of it or not, you sound like a Utopian to many people. And so what if you are? Are people in gated communities with covenants necessarily opposed to liberty, peace and well….OK, but what’s wrong with some measure of intolerance? Freedom of association, right? I’m with Hoppes’ secretary: no loud rock music near my house!
We were speaking of communes though, right? I may be missing a reference, and Hoppe’s secretary meant all rockers must leave North America or maybe the planet? If that’s the joke, my sincere apologies for my obtuseness. I’m not down with that and its unfair to you both.
If it is the world you’re talking about taking over (peacefully, through pure reason), I want to leave the planet. I can’t bear to read the idiotic responses your legal theories inspire (on the order of “how many angels can dance on the head of a pin”) let alone wish to live in such a place. I don’t know how you can take a wave of such buffoonishness every day and continue to entertain ideas of a human order based purely on reason.

Happy Birthday Prof. Hoppe. Even though you’re not at unlv anymore…still big influence on my intellectual development.
I agree with Hoppe on more subjects, than I do with any other thinker alive. His works nearly single handedly brought me from minarchy, to anarchy.
And may I suggest to those who decide to smear Hoppe with the typical rhetoric, that they instead, attempt to impart liberty to 1/10 of the degree that Hoppe and others have, before making idiots out of themselves?
I, too, have been influenced by Prof. Hoppe to the point of rejecting the notion of state and democracy as proper means to a progressing civilization. I am very much grateful to Prof. Hoppe for the priceless understanding evolving in my head.
On a lighter note, it would be delightful if Prof. Hoppe shared with us his thoughts on beer, his favorite etc.
