The computer and the Internet have put the world on our desk. Now the computer phone is putting the world in our pocket. If you haven’t seen it, the Money Museum is a beautiful online museum of world coinage. But I’m posting this because I’ve found that the Money Museum has created an iPhone app that puts the world of coins on your phone — including pictures and information about “The World’s Oldest Currency System”. And the app is free. Amazing.

have you seen the Goldmoney i-phone app?
Just googled the “Goldmoney” iphone app and read about it. FDR would not approve!
Maybe we are on the road to something like competitive private money ..

There are already quite a few DGCs (Digital Gold Currencies) in operation… US & China have tried to crack down, sometimes successfully like in the case of e-gold, but the world is a big place and the empire’s reach is still limited.
DGCs already have millions of users and continue to grow. goldmoney for ex. has gold in excess of $700 Mn (over 750.000 ounces)… and can spend quite a bit on legal defense.

Iphone apps are not truly free, they have hidden costs to user.

I’ve been downloading free apps since day one and I’ve yet to be hit with some “hidden” cost. The free apps are usually a stripped-down version of a paid app that they hope you’ll want to purchase.
The Goldmoney app is not free, but it is awesome. I love the developer’s take on it.
